A large knight with a sword searches for something with an orange goblin on his shoulder, a wizard to his left holds a coffee cup and show a white leg, a woman with a patched eye stands to the side crossing her arms with a dagger at her side.

Half-Price Heroes Book 1: The King’s Biscuits

King Reggie’s second helping, stolen?!

In a world of Corporate Food Gods and famed Buttersmiths, the disgraced ex-captain of the Lionsguard, Sir Bullstein, joins forces with manipulative bard One-Eyed Beverly on a morally gray job for coin. Their mission? To slay the absolute moron that disrupted famished and wrathful King Reggie’s breakfast.

Instead of earning easy jimmynickels, the party uncovers a deeper, more sinister, and less trivial danger to the flourishing land of Jimmyville... one they are not at all suited to deal with. Can Bullstein and his band of dysfunctional rejects take down a self-proclaimed genius and his criminal network?

Literary Influences

Half‑Price Heroes:The King’s Biscuits originated in November 2023 and will release on the Amazon Marketplace on April 30, 2026. An audiobook edition—featuring professional voice actor Rob Jones—will follow shortly after.

The series draws inspiration from medieval literature, Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series, J. Zachary Pike’s Dark Profit Saga, the comedic chaos of Monty Python, and the timeless charm of William Goldman’s The Princess Bride.

A New Saga Begins

Half‑Price Heroes: The King’s Biscuits is the first book in what will be a six‑book series (with the possibility of even more). Unlike many fantasy series that follow a single protagonist, Half‑Price Heroes spotlights a different member of the crew in each installment.

The second book—tentatively titled Half‑Price Heroes: The Glaze of Ages—will be told from One‑Eyed Beverly’s perspective, with Sir Bullstein stepping into a powerful supporting role. Books three and four will follow the remaining two members of the party. As for the protagonists of books five and six… that secret will remain closely guarded until the series reaches that point in time.

Flavorful Characters, Hearty World Lore

Two of the most notable aspects of Half‑Price Heroes are the depth of its characters and the vibrancy of its world. Jimmyville’s satirical, food‑oriented landscape is not only comedic but rich with its own narrative potential. Honorable Sir Bullstein is balanced—and frequently challenged—by a strong female counterpart: the opportunistic trickster Beverly the One‑Eyed. Add in a socially unaware wizard and an overly empathetic goblin, and hilarious mishaps are inevitable.
